Drill Pipe & OCTG

API drill pipe, HWDP, drill collars, pup joints, kellys and crossovers — new and used stock, globally sourced.

Drill Pipe & OCTG

Paragon supplies API-certified drill pipe and downhole tubulars for onshore and offshore drilling programmes — new-manufacture and inspected pre-owned stock, sourced through a vetted global mill and yard network.

Every string is specified to the well profile: grade, weight, connection, service class and inspection level agreed against the drilling programme rather than pulled off a catalogue.

How it works

  1. 1Client shares the drilling programme, well profile and connection preference — Paragon returns a tubular specification and stock options within one working day.
  2. 2Available inventory is pre-vetted for grade, class and connection; new-manufacture options are sourced from API-licensed mills.
  3. 3All pre-owned tubulars are supplied with current inspection certification (DS-1 or equivalent) to the agreed service class.
  4. 4Paragon coordinates thread protection, bundling, export documentation and delivery to the wellsite or forwarding yard.

Specifications indicative — actual configuration sized against your specific process.

Typical applications

  • New-well drilling programmes — onshore and offshore
  • Sidetrack, workover and re-entry campaigns
  • HWDP transition strings and BHA make-up
  • Directional and horizontal drilling
  • HDD and geothermal drilling contractors sourcing lay-down strings
  • Contingency and spare-string stock at forwarding yards

Selection factors

Match grade and connection to the well, not the yard

Grade (E-75 through S-135) and connection (NC, XT, HT, etc.) should be picked against actual tension, torque and dogleg severity — not what happens to be sitting in the nearest yard. The wrong connection costs far more in fatigue failures than it saves in freight.

New vs pre-owned — decide on class, not age

Well-inspected DS-1 Class 2 pipe often out-performs poorly maintained new stock. What matters is current inspection certification, remaining wall and connection condition — not the year of manufacture.

Insist on independent inspection

For any pre-owned string, require third-party inspection to a named standard (DS-1 is the common reference) before shipment. Reject yard-signed certificates without traceable NDT records.

FIELD TIP

The cheapest string is rarely the cheapest well. On any pre-owned tubular buy, spend the inspection money up front — a rejected joint in the yard costs a fraction of a twist-off downhole.
